MCU Phase 4: 10 Villains Who Could Actually Replace Thanos
4. Amora The Enchantress
Fantasy Casting: Saoirse Ronan
If Marvel decides to go in to opposite direction to Thanos’ sheer brute force, Amora The Enchantress (a different but not too dissimilar character to Cara Delevingne’s in Suicide Squad) could be a clever option.
She originates in the Asgardian canon, meaning her first appearance could be in Thor 4, or even (fingers crossed) the hypothetical Asgardians Of The Galaxy. Considering how quickly Strange finds Loki though, if she flees to Earth following Surtur’s destruction of Asgard, Doctor Strange 2 offers a possibility, as does Guardians 3 if she flees elsewhere.
A powerful telepath, Amora can travel through both dimensions and time, as well as weaponising her powers in the form of energy blasts. Despite these abilities, she doesn’t lack strength and can go toe to toe with Thor without using them, although Scarlet Witch has matched her telekinetics before.
She’s previously partnered up with Loki and has a rivalry of sorts with Valkyrie, so hopefully it’s only a matter of time before she’s on screen in some way.
Saorise Ronan reached three Oscar nominations before her 25th birthday, so no one could doubt her acting ability. Her Irish brogue is perfect for this mystical, graceful villain too.
