The lack of an announcement for Captain Marvel's inevitable sequel was a surprise part of Comic Con this year, but Kevin Feige was smart enough to name-check the former Kree warrior as one of the other projects his team are working on too. That likely means she's going to take the lead in Phase 5 along with some other big returning names.

Right now, we don't know what form the sequel will take, but given the number of loose ends left hanging by her first movie, it would seem that we'll see another film set back in the 1990s rather than one set in the modern day. After all, the Kree remain active, the Skrulls are still spread across the Galaxy and Ronan hasn't yet gone fully rogue. So there's a lot of story to play with there.

The real major selling point is the return of Brie Larson, of course, who was a little underserved by Endgame (and necessarily so, unfortunately). Now that that's out the way, we can look forward to seeing more of her in Phase 5.
