7. Venom

It's fair to say that Venom's first solo outing in Sony's new Marvel cinematic universe was divisive and some have gone as far as to say that it's entirely unwatchable. But those people are being unfair and would be absolutely no fun at parties, because there's a lot to love about Tom Hardy's performances as Eddie Brock and Venom.

There's so much, in fact, that it almost makes you wish that the rumours that his film is set in the MCU were true. Long before the film's release, we were primed to expect a link to Tom Holland's Spider-Man and the fact that we weren't doesn't entirely confirm that it's not.

Hopefully, Sony and Marvel can work out a deal to bring Venom to the mainline MCU, because the idea of Hardy's anti-hero meeting Holland and having a snark-off is just the best. Some believe that it's definitely still possible.
