17. Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) - Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

While Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 wrapped up some pretty significant story lines and left the Guardians pretty much plain sailing towards Infinity War, there was a massive loose end in the shape of Ayesha, who is still off simmering with rage at the disrespect shown to her people.

She ends Vol 2 by unveiling her masterplan to take down the Guardians and make them pay for what they've done to her and her people, though there's a distinct hint there that she will end up being isolated and ostracised by those above her in the Sovereign's power hierarchy as she clashes with them over her expensive revenge mission.

If that's the case, we're likely to see an entirely different animal turn up in the sequel than was in the first film - more dangerous, more desperate and even more intent on the Guardians' doom.
