MCU: Predicting 25 Movies Marvel Will Make After Phase 3

The Film

With DC heading under the sea for Aquaman, it's surely only a matter of time before Marvel gives fans exactly what they want and introduces Namor to the MCU. His first movie would be an origin (he's a whole new type of character like Doctor Strange, so it's a welcome approach), establishing who he is, bringing him into contact with Avengers perhaps and introducing a threat to him or the world on dry land.

Any Evidence?

Well, nothing is set in stone by any means, but we do know Kevin Feige has been interested enough to talk about the rights issue that has stood in the way so far:

"It’s slightly more complicated than that. Let’s put it this way – there are entanglements that make it less easy. There are older contracts that still involve other parties that mean we need to work things out before we move forward on it. As opposed to an Iron Man or any of the Avengers or any of the other Marvel characters where we could just put them in."

If he's looked into it, that surely symbolises something...

Any Groundwork?

Nothing beyond Easter Eggs. First, in Iron Man 2, a map in the background shows areas of interest tagged by SHIELD all of which correspond with somewhere important in the MCU, as confirmed by Jon Favreau. And one of them seems to point to Namor's Solitary Place off the coast of South America.

Also in the same movie we see an appearance by Larry Ellison, the CEO of Oracle, which is of course the name of the company Namor founds to provide a better life for sea creatures.

Other than that no, there's been precious little opportunity to get sea-bound.
