MCU: Predicting How Thanos Will Gain The Infinity Stones (And How They Were Gained In The Comics)

1. Mind Stone

The sixth and final Gem on Thanos' wish list was The Mind Stone, under the protection of The Grand Master. As mirrored by his MCU counterpart, The Grand Master of the comics is obsessed with games and tests of skill. So when The Mad Titan showed, the two competed in a simulated battlefield with The Mind Stone at stake.

However, Thanos used a decoy for this game, substituting in a robotic doppelganger to battle the host, while he simply took the gem for himself. Revelling in his victory, Thanos mused that "with five Infinity Gems in my possession, I could have taken the sixth from the Grand Master in any number of a thousand ways. But this method was surely the most enjoyable."

As weird and wonderful as it would be to see Josh Brolin's Thanos take on Jeff Goldblum's Grand Master, this will not be the case.

With the MCU version of The Mind Stone currently embedded in Vision's head, it has been clear for sometime that the android will be in a lot of trouble when Thanos heads to Earth. This is confirmed in the Infinity War trailer where we see Corvus Glaive prying the stone from the Avenger's forehead with his trademark glaive - a weapon with the ability to cut through virtually anything, including Vision's vibranium skull.

Ever since his creation, this eventuality has been looming over Vision, and it is difficult to see him surviving Corvus Glaive and the seemingly perfect weapon to bring about his end.

How do you think Thanos will get the Stones? Could he actually fail? Share your thoughts down in the comments.
