MCU Spider-Man 4: 8 Past Clues To What Could Happen Next

This one doesn't come from the movies, but it's still a potentially huge clue.

During a recent interview with The New York Times, Amy Pascal (producer of all three MCU Spidey flicks) was asked about the possibility of a woman gaining Spider-powers and fighting alongside Spider-Man, to which she responded "never say never", and gave a "coy smile". Here's the full quote:

"Speaking of women, are we ever going to see a woman with superpowers alongside Spider-Man? Isn’t there a storyline in the comics where MJ gets to take the Iron Spider armor for a spin?"

"PASCAL: Never say never. [She offers a coy smile.]"

Now, as evidenced by Andrew Garfield's Oscar-worthy performances in recent interviews, filmmakers are more than willing to mislead the press. And ultimately, Pascal didn't say anything definitive. Her comment could easily mean nothing.

At the same time though, it's possible that her coy smile was a genuine "wink-wink, nudge-nudge" response to the question. After all, wouldn't the frickin' producer of these movies know something we don't? Plus, as we mentioned in our introduction, Pascal isn't exactly one to hold her tongue in interviews.

In other words... is Pascal hinting that some form of Spider-Woman is about to share the screen with Holland's Spider-Man? Zendaya's MJ is fun, sure, but this would be a fascinating direction to take the character after three movies of relative samey-ness.
