MCU Vs DCEU: The Definitive Comparison (So Far)

1. Quality

Terminator Genisys
Warner Bros. Marvel Studios

And finally, the elephant in the room. Marvel or DC; whose movies are better?

Obviously, there is no definitive answer here. That's one of the best things about being a movie fan, everyone has a different opinion and there is never a correct answer for anything. Some people find Citizen Kane dry and tedious, millions of people have zero interest in ever watching a Star Wars movie, and people continue to pay Adam Sandler to churn out rubbish 'comedies'. All art is subjective, for better or worse.

As a business enterprise, there is no doubt Marvel are streets ahead of the competition. For every person that finds the studio's output blandly repetitive and overly-familiar, there is another that will defend Thor: The Dark World as an underrated masterpiece and lambast Hollywood for not giving Michael Rooker an Academy Award nomination for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

On the other side of the coin, plenty of vitriol has been spewed online about Wonder Woman being feminist propaganda, along with a huge number of think pieces about how it empowers an entire generation. Fans have decried Zack Snyder for turning Batman into a relentless murder machine and making a beacon of hope like Superman into a big miserable b*stard, while others have commended a more mature approach to complex characters in the face of Marvel's kid-friendly and candy-colored endeavors.

There is no right and wrong, no 'F**k Marvel' (that's right, David Ayer) or 'F**k DC', simply two competing brands of comic book movies and a legion of fans around the globe that all have an opinion on which one is their favorite, an opinion each and every one of them is entitled to.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
