MCU X-Men: 10 Actors Who Could Play Wolverine

1. Taron Egerton

Not only is Egerton’s career going from strength to strength, but he has also stoked the flames by stating he would be interested in playing Wolverine within the MCU, going as far as to say he has met with Marvel executives in the past regarding the possibility of taking the role.

Egerton fits a profile that could work well with the notable X-Men wildcard, and ticks many boxes from not just looks alone, but also age and physicality.

The Welshman has been heavily quizzed and questioned on the subject matter, and although adamant that rumours are only rumours at this stage, he notes that “hopefully if it does come around, they'll give me a shot”.

The 32-year-old would offer an entirely new take on the part that Jackman brought to life, and to avoid a carbon copy, Taron would offer a different spin on the character that would fit into the MCU’s new template for Phase 5.

With the Brit working under the wing of Jackman in 2015’s Eddie the Eagle, it would be a fitting sense of poetic justice, should he have the mantle passed down to him by his former mentor and friend, Hugh Jackman.
