MCU X-Men: 10 Actors Who Could Play Wolverine

Jon Bernthal is an actor who really is as effortless as they come at his craft. The once Walking Dead star is one of the busiest men in Hollywood, and among some of the most sought-after names too.

With a strikingly similar profile to Karl Urban and Hugh Jackman, Bernthal offers a truly intimidating and tough on-screen presence, often portraying characters who match his off-screen resilience.

The American has already collared a Marvel character in Frank Castle for Netflix’s The Punisher, but that’s not to say he couldn't join the MCU in a different role, with someone like Wolverine seemingly tailor-made for someone of his attributes.

With Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio's Kingpin already reprising their Marvel/Netflix counterparts within the MCU canon, and Bernthal’s Punisher nowhere to be seen as of yet, Wolvie could offer the Washington, DC native a role even more substantial than his previous.

The 45-year-old has been asked his thoughts on playing Weapon X before, and although his answer was neither a yes nor no, Jon is keen to ensure he connects to the characters he portrays in not just a physical, but a psychological means also, describing the character of Frank Castle as being someone “in my bones.” Regardless, fans hope to see his return to Marvel, in whatever manner or role, very soon.
