4. Karl Urban

Uniting the worlds of the formerly mentioned Tolkien and The Boys, Karl Urban truly is a linchpin within Hollywood. The New Zealand-born actor has enjoyed a career of huge adaptability with no role being the same or even similar to another. Urban would adopt an instinctual approach like Jackman’s Wolverine in terms of stature, facial hair, and individuality.

The 50-year-old is well versed in comic-book culture with his repertoire of portrayed characters featuring within the likes of animation, film, and television, as well as making an appearance within the MCU already as Skurge in Thor: Ragnarok.

The recipient of a recent viral deepfake replacing Jackman’s face with his own, it is no surprise Karl's name has been campaigned for as the resemblance is uncanny without even factoring in his acting prowess and scene-stealing ability.

Although exciting to prosper the possibility, the Star Trek old-timer has seemingly ruled himself out of the running. He described rumours relating to him and the character as “flattering”, but made haste to point out his age would not make rational sense to play the part, in that “You’re not going to get three films out of Karl Urban unless you want a 65-year-old Wolverine.”

The casting may seem unlikely for now, but if Hollywood has ever proved anything, it's "never say never".
