After yesterday's reveal of the three brother dwarves Dori, Nori & Ori comes our first look at another two separate siblings in the form of Oin and Gloin in promotional stills from The Hobbit. Oin (John Callen) and Gloin (Peter Hambleton) are part of the twelve dwarves and Thorin who help Bilbo Baggis on his Unexpected Journey. Gloin is of course the daddy of Gimli, so memorably played by John Rhys Davies in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. All looks appropriately Tolkien-esque, wouldn't you say? Coming Soon have more;
Distant cousins of Thorin Oakenshield, these two doughty Northern Dwarves join the Company out of a sense of loyalty to their kin, and also because they have a substantial sum of money invested in the venture. Along with Bombur, Gloin is the only other married Dwarf in the Company (there being a shortage of female dwarves in general). His wife is an acclaimed beauty with a particularly fine beard. Gloin is the proud father of a young son, Gimli, who will go on to become part of the famous Fellowship of the Ring.
I suspect in the next few days we have seen all the dwarves from The Hobbit so stay tuned!
