Though My Hero Academia is known to have its own fair share of comedy inbetween the heart-stopping action and increasingly dark, surprisingly adult drama, the comedy presented in this film is unlike any that's been seen in the show up until recently.

There's a surprising amount of classic slapstick involved in the film, a lot of physical and visual comedy that adds even more charm to its characters. It enhances the film overall and makes it an even more enjoyable watch.

It might not be a coincidence that the worst action scenes in the film have no comedy in them, but its presence in certain other action sequences make those the most memorable of the entire film.

The animators's willingness to make their characters look goofier and even break model a few times saves the movie from being boring in many ways, and the goofiness mixed with the harsher emotional beats and high stakes make the film a thoroughly enjoyable viewing experience. It fortunately doesn't undercut the film's darker scenes, nor does it feel out of character.
