My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission Review - 8 Ups & 2 Downs
3. Up: Action Scenes
The action in this film takes up a lot of screentime, which is perhaps what many fans came for. It (mostly) doesn't disappoint, with a lot of creative and visually stunning sequences where the animators were really able to stretch their drawing muscles.
Some of the most memorable action scenes involve the four teenage boys the film mostly focuses on. Deku and Rody's chase across Otheon is remarkable for being both hilarious and exciting, making use of the environment in creative and fun ways and presenting Rody as an agile parkour pro.
It also maximised Deku's existing powers and his newly found blackwhip quirk, turning him into a veritable Spider-Man (which probably made manga creator Kohei Horikoshi happy, given that Spider-Man is his favourite superhero).
The fight scenes involving Bakugou and Shouto, especially that of the cliff battle and their final showdowns with various Humarise members, show off their immense power as well as their resolve, their struggle eventually culminating in satisfying victories.
Though Deku's final battle was confusing in parts, it reached impressive heights regardless, showing off some of the craziest visuals Deku's powers are known for in the series.
