Mystery Science Theater 3000: 10 Worst Movies They Riffed

4. Monster a Go-Go (1965)

monster a go goSummary: When an astronaut crash lands back on Earth, the government searches the wreckage of his ship, but finds no sign of the man. Around the same time, a large monster begins terrorizing the city and mutilating his victims. They suspect the astronaut has been mutated, and is in fact the monster. Why It Stinks: Yes, the entire movie looks like it was filmed on a parking lot security camera. Not only is this movie bad, you actually would not be able to make a film worse than this if you tried. Why? Allow me to explain... Production started in 1961 under a director named Bill Rebane. After shooting about half the movie, he ran out of money and had to shelve the project. In 1964/65, another director named Herschell Gordon Lewis bought the footage, filmed further scenes to add to it, and tried to tie it all together with narration. And it shows. Characters appear and disappear for no apparent reason... scenes where people dance but there's no music to go along with it... one actor plays a character who then vanishes - again, for no good reason - followed by the same actor playing an entirely new character. Sample:Best Riff: "Hey, I've figured it out! He's got his script taped to the floor!"
