10. The Long Halloween
The Long Halloween is one of the classier Batman comic book tales that rings quite true with Nolans trilogy. Set across one year in Gotham, Batman hunts a vicious serial killer who only targets Mafioso, and only kills on major calendar holidays; an M.O that lands him with the moniker of Holiday.
How It Could Work: The Long Halloween would easily fit into the Nolan school of Batman. There are no huge, campy Supervillain showdowns here; The Caped Crusader has to use his powers of deduction and immense dedication to his personal code in order to track down and convict just one out of a long list of human suspects.
Potential Issues: Nolans trilogy sort of pilfered little bits from all over Batman lore. As a result, some of the sentiments in The Long Halloween were echoed in The Dark Knight which could raise a potential issue. However, that said, the plot and the overall story here are largely untouched, meaning theres still every chance it could happen.
