20 Awesome Recent Horror Movies You Definitely Missed
1. Mother of Flies
If you haven't heard of The Adams Family, they're a literal family of artists who make their own horror films at a DIY "kitchen sink" level, doing basically everything in-house from the acting to the directing, sound, practical effects, and so on.
Best known for their films The Deeper You Dig and Hellbender, the group recently released their most ambitious film to date.
Mother of Flies follows a cancer-stricken young woman (Zelda Adams) who seeks out a mysterious woodland healer (Toby Poser) she believes can cure her with a bizarre three-day ritual, much to her father's (John Adams) intense scepticism.
And like the family's previous works, this is a testament to the power of creativity and passion over money.
For as paltry as its production values may be, this is nevertheless an enticingly strange, at times unexpectedly affecting folk romp with some impressively gnarly divergences into body horror.
While the Adams Family certainly has a fanbase within the genre, they still deserve far more recognition than they've ever had.
