4. The Hilarious Fred Savage Frame Narrative

The major addition in this new cut of the film is the Princess Bride-style frame story in which Fred Savage is kidnapped by Deadpool and forced to listen to a kid-friendly rendition of the Deadpool 2 story.

These scenes were reportedly all filmed in a single day in August, but they end up accounting for a surprising 15 minutes of material peppered throughout the film.

Savage is clearly having a blast critiquing Deadpool 2's plot holes and much-discussed issues - namely the "fridging" of Vanessa in the first act - and the banter between himself and Ryan Reynolds is generally pretty damn hysterical.

It's fair to say that the novelty might've worn off if there was much more of the two exchanging chit-chat, but these inserts provide a welcome break from the main movie just when it's starting to feel too familiar.
