8. Snub: Delroy Lindo (Best Actor)
The Best Actor field was absolutely stacked this year, and while there were numerous worthy actors who didn't make the cut - including Mads Mikkelsen (Another Round) and Tahar Rahim (The Mauritanian) - no snub stung more than Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods).
Lindo's unforgettable performance as PTSD-afflicted war veteran Paul is the easy high-point of the actor's career, and upon release generated a heap of Oscar buzz.
Sadly Lindo's momentum cooled in the months following the film's release and never recovered, causing him to miss out on a nomination. It isn't easy to pick an actor for him to replace, admittedly, but this really felt like his time for a nod.
