Oscars 2017: Predicting All The Nominees

10. Achievement In Film Editing

Oscar Nominations
A24

Last year's surprising nod for The Force Awakens aside, it's rather unusual that a movie will pick up a Best Editing nomination without also being in the Best Picture running, and the winner of this one is often (but not always) a good indicator of who'll be taking home the big one.

That makes La La Land and Moonlight the heavy favourites here, though more outside bets - albeit those still likely to get Best Picture nominations - are Hacksaw Ridge and Hell or High Water, with Manchester By The Sea, Arrival, and Silence all in contention too.

Likely Nominees:

Tom Cross (La La Land)

John Gilbert (Hacksaw Ridge)

Jennifer Lame (Manchester By The Sea)

Joi McMillon & Nat Sanders (Moonlight)

Jake Roberts (Hell Or High Water)

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
