Whether it was your favourite performance of the five or not, it was tough not to be thrilled for CODA's Troy Kotsur when he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

This was an historic win, making him the first deaf male to win an acting Oscar and only the second deaf performer in history, behind his CODA co-star Marlee Matlin who won Best Actress for her performance in Children of a Lesser God back in 1986.

Kotsur's speech was surely the most heartfelt of the night, enough that even his translator struggled to maintain his composure. On top of all that, presenter Youn Yuh-jung stood close to Kotsur during his speech and beamed with joy as he spoke.

In a ceremony unfortunately destined to be best remembered for an act of violence, this is what people should really be talking about.
