Oscars: Ranking Every Best Animated Feature Film
14. Toy Story 4
Toy Story 4 is not a film anyone was expecting, and was certainly one few even wanted given how brilliant Toy Story 3 had ended. But it proved to be a big hit, and ended Woody's long and winding story in a bittersweet and definitive way in the process.
With typically great voice work from Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, the welcome return of Annie Potts' Bo Peep, and a final act that wonderfully subverts expectations, the sequel offers up some solid laughs and gives its characters a worthy send-off.
Despite all its virtues, though, Toy Story 4's win couldn't have felt more obvious and unimaginative, especially considering Toy Story 3 had already taken home the trophy and films like the slick and beautiful Klaus and the imaginative I Lost My Body were left out in the cold by its win. Not totally undeserved, just a bit hollow.
