Pacific Rim 3: 10 Things We Want To See

10. Hannibal Chau Returns

One of Uprising's biggest disappointments was the absence of black market Kaiju organ dealer Hannibal Chau, who appeared in the first movie and was played with considerable, gleeful relish by Guillermo del Toro's pal Ron Perlman.

Though Chau was eventually eaten by the newborn Kaiju, a mid-credits scene revealed that he did, in fact, survive, consequently leaving fans frustrated that he didn't resurface in the sequel. This was apparently due to scheduling conflicts, as co-writer-director Steven S. DeKnight did apparently write a part for the character.

If Pacific Rim 3 happens, Chau needs to make a glorious return, with a meaty supporting role that restores the series' sense of fun and personality.

How Likely Is It?: DeKnight has pretty much confirmed that, unless scheduling issues abound again, Chau will appear. He said, "I'm hoping if we get a chance to do a third movie, I've got a Hannibal Chau idea, so I would love to see him come back."

It's all down to Perlman, and as long as the reception to Uprising didn't turn him off the series completely, there's a solid chance he'll be back. 7/10
