While Hoffman wasn't the biggest star attached to Almost Famous, once again, he ends up delivering the most memorable lines in the most memorable scenes. His advice about being uncool always made for a touching scene - but now it resonates with greatness. No one would have delivered these lines with such believability. What he's saying is unadorned and simple, and had any other actor said them it would have been in passing, a cut scene on the editing room floor. Through Hoffman they took great weight, and they'll hold that weight forever.
