Never bet against Illumination to deliver an absurd box office smash despite an inherently mediocre product. The Secret Life of Pets scored a ludicrous $875.5 million back in 2016, and there's no real reason the sequel can't land a marginal improvement.

Toy Story 4's release two weeks later will likely hold it back from making a cool billion, but between the animals, the wacky voices and the animation, it should perform similarly to its predecessor regardless of critical reception.

It probably has the greatest potential to under-perform on this list solely due to the lack of buzz, but there's still more than three months to go.
