Ranking All Batman Vs. Superman Fights In Animation
4. Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League – Cosmic Clash (Second Fight)
As a total surprise, the second and final match between Batman and Superman in Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League – Cosmic Clash is one of the best clashes of the titans in animation. The credit goes a long way towards the creepiest evil version of CK ever put to screen, animation or otherwise.
No matter what Bruce did, the Kryptonian just kept wearing a cheerful smile and kept cracking jokes. The best part was when he started singing about how pointless the fight was. Even mocking Bruce, the only use of Batman's battle armor was for it to be melted with Superman's laser vision while it was still on the Caped Crusader.
When Kryptonite was introduced into the equation, the subversion was that Batman did not use it. Instead, he grabbed a device that concentrates yellow sun energy so he could power up his friend so much his body would reject Brainiac in his system.
It’s a nice character bit, as it proved that the Dark Knight’s goal was not to defeat a villain, he wanted to help his friend in need. Thus, completing the Detective’s character arc by admitting he sees the Justice League as his friends.
Put this battle sequence into a more serious-toned project, and it will work just as well.
