Ranking Every DC Comic Book Movie From Worst To Best

15. Batman 1966

DC Movies
Twentieth Century-Fox

The screen Batman in the 1960s might have almost killed the comic book character by sheer weight of camp, but there is still some kitsch enjoyment to be had in watching Adam West and Burt Ward act like the absolute garbage they're working with is Shakespeare of the highest quality.

Batman 1966 will live on in infamy forever as the film that opens with Bat-Shark Repellent, and really that's about all it's really memorable for. It features some classic performances from the biggest villains from the show, and has its tongue so far forced into its cheek that you suspect it might burst all the way through.

And there is some innocent enthusiasm to be enjoyed too, in stark contrast to the relentless darkness and pomp of later Batman movies: this is firmly of another age not only in age but also in spirit. And while the cult appeal has massively outweighed the actual quality of the film, it's still a silly joy to watch at times.
