Ranking Every Final Destination Death From Worst To Best
7. Teacher Overkill (Valerie Lewton - Final Destination)
The death of teacher Valerie Lewton (Kristen Cloke) is at once one of the series' most depressing death scenes and also one of its most low-key amusing - if that makes sense.
On one hand, it's made painfully clear that she's suffering with immense survivor's guilt, but the convoluted means through which she's eventually killed is also undeniably amusing.
After having shrapnel fired into her neck and witnessing her house catch on fire, Valerie tries to grab a towel, only to accidentally pull a set of knives off the countertop, sending one flying directly into her chest.
But because that's not cruel enough, an explosion causes a chair to fall onto the knife, digging it further into her chest, and moments later the house explodes, incinerating her.
It is the series at its most aggressively blood-thirsty, and all the more surprising considering the manner in which Valerie is depicted throughout.
6. Nailgun Makeover (Erin Ulmer - Final Destination 3)
Poor Erin (Alexz Johnson) gets one of the most wince-inducing deaths in the series, when a chain events cause her to trip over and smash her head on a waiting nail-gun, which promptly fires countless nails through her skull.
It's stomach-churningly grotesque and quite brilliantly executed from a filmmaking perspective, no matter that Erin was otherwise a pretty forgettable character.
