5. Strangled By Shower Line (Tod Waggner - Final Destination)

The first non-premonition death in the entire franchise remains one of its best, as Alex's best pal Tod (Chad Donella) is strangled in his bathroom under highly dubious circumstances.

Tod ends up slipping on a suspiciously sentient puddle of water which causes his neck to become entangled in a shower line, asphyxiating him to death.

The focus on Tod's desperate suffering - complete with a lingering look at his bloodshot eyes - makes this especially tough to watch, and the fact that his death is ruled a suicide only makes it that much more crushing.

4. Crushed By Glass (Tim Carpenter - Final Destination 2)

To be completely blunt, Tim was a total idiot who undeniably caused his own death by running up to a school of pigeons and harassing them, like he was five years old.

This causes the birds to fly into the path of a nearby construction worker, who accidentally releases a thick sheet of glass from a crane, which promptly falls on Tim's head and immediately turns him to mush. To make matters even worse, his poor mum Nora is with him when it happens.

Between the sheer visceral nature of the death and everything leading up to it - including Tim's near-fatal trip to the dentist - this is a terrific sequence.
