Ranking Every Harry Potter & Wizarding World Film Worst To Best

10. Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince

The sixth film in the Harry Potter leg of the franchise is the worst one by MILES, which is pretty ironic considering that it's based on what is probably the finest book in the series.

Interestingly enough, Half-Blood Prince does actually do some things incredibly well. It's visually stunning, filled with strong performances - especially from Michael Gambon, Jim Broadbent and Tom Felton - and there are a couple of absolutely amazing scenes: namely, the terrifying cave set-piece and Dumbledore's (Michael Gambon) heartbreaking death.

So, why does this movie suck?

Well, it's just like with Crimes of Grindelwald. When a film is this badly written and this much of a mess, all positives fall to the wayside.

Overloaded with cringeworthy comedy, chemistry-free romance and under-developed subplots, we're largely devoid of action, a proper narrative structure or any true emotional depth. Half-Blood Prince often feels more like an irritating romantic comedy than anything else.

Seriously, this movie devotes more time to Ron's (Rupert Grint) comedic romance with Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) than nearly all other elements of the narrative, all while Harry Potter's (Daniel Radcliffe) romance with Ginny (Bonnie Wright) is abysmally executed, and the film eventually ends out of nowhere without any sort of climax.

Ultimately, Half-Blood Prince is an unsatisfying dud which people go far, far too easy on. A terrible movie is still a terrible movie even if it happens to belong to a franchise that's part of your childhood.
