Shame on Marvel for hiring an actor of Natalie Portman's caliber and making her character into a stamina-drainingly dull, forced love interest for the God of Thunder.

Though the first Thor movie seemed to push her as a whip-smart scientist who wouldn't take anyone's s***, this was quickly abandoned in favour of an hilariously implausible romance between her and Thor that was rushed through in the laziest fashion possible.

Cue Jane moping over Thor until he returns, only for him to leave again and again, ensuring Jane is never really much of a character in her own right but basically just one of Thor's accessories.

It sure as hell didn't help that Portman basically starred in Thor: The Dark World against her will after original director Patty Jenkins bailed, and the character has been reduced to an off-screen non-entity ever since.
