Ranking: Every Tim Burton Movie From Worst To Best
15. Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children (2016)
"Solid" is probably the best word to describe Burton's latest movie, which uses strong style and great actors to adapt Ransom Riggs' novel to the big screen, even if it's ultimately not that memorable.
Yes, Eva Green and Samuel L. Jackson steal every frame within which they reside, but the overall fantasy narrative is rather generic, and at 127 minutes the movie is far, far too long considering how lightweight it is on the whole.
One hopes that if it's indeed successful enough to spawn a franchise, Burton pulls an Alice and leaves it to someone else. It's decent, just not much more than that.
Best Moment: The entirety of Jackson's performance in the third act. It's outrageously over-the-top and makes both the character and the movie a lot more fun.
