Ranking Every Upcoming Spider-Man Film Spin-Off Worst To Best

4. Venom 2

Venom Carnage Feature
Sony/Marvel Comics

Although Sony are yet to officially lift the lid on Venom 2, a sequel to Ruben Fleischer's 2018 film is nigh-on guaranteed, given how well it performed at the box-office. We also know that it's likely to feature Woody Harrelson as Carnage, with Venom's post-credit sequence having shown Eddie Brock encountering Cletus Kasady in his prison cell.

Venom may have fallen afoul of critics in October, but one did get the sense that perhaps they were taking the film just a little too seriously. Remember, the premise behind Venom is in itself fairly comical, and when Fleischer and Tom Hardy turned that dial all the way up to 11 - despite the fact the film had been advertised as a Cronenberg-esque body horror - moviegoers were always going to go one of two ways.

So, what kind of Venom movie can we expect the sequel to be? Carnage is certainly a sinister figure, but given Harrelson's hairdo at the end of the first film, it's probably fair to assume that Venom 2 will stay the course, and ensure that while the action remains heavy, so too, will the banter.
