Ranking July 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best

10. Batman: The Killing Joke

Ghostbusters Jason Bourne Ice Age
Warner Bros. Animation

RottenTomatoes Score: 53% (6.0/10)

Box Office: Made for $3.5 million, the long-awaited graphic novel adaptation has already raked in over $4 million theatrically alone, and when considering that only a relative handful of audiences could see it in cinemas, it's safe to say that home video sales will make it a colossal success.

Verdict: On one hand, The Killing Joke is a superb adaptation of The Joker's origins, as powerfully vocalised by Mark Hamill. Sadly, though, that's just half of the movie.

This feature-length telling adds in a half-hour prologue which vacillates between being stunningly dull and outright offensive, particularly in regard to Barbara Gordon's sexual relationship with Bruce Wayne. It's terrible and wildly unnecessary.

The big moments from the comic mostly land (namely the ending), but given the hype (and the R-rating), it really should've been much, much better overall.
