Box Office: No box office data is yet available, but with a surprisingly steep £6 million (almost $8 million) budget, it might struggle to recoup its costs amid the World Cup. Home video prospects are certainly much more appealing.

Verdict: Cute yet fundamentally dull, this generic British comedy about the adventures of a daft young woman (Beattie Edmondson) and her recently-acquired pet pug delivers pretty much exactly what you expect.

It's easy viewing and clips along snappily enough, even if it's painfully lacking in imagination and coasts far too aggressively on the appeal of its titular canine protagonist.

Plus, this is the movie Disney gave U.K. audiences to compensate for moving Ant-Man and the Wasp out of the World Cup period, so it's hard not to harbour some inherent ill will against it.
