Ranking March 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

11. The Discovery

The Discovery Jason Segel Rooney Mara
Netflix

RottenTomatoes Score: 50% (6.1/10)

Box Office: It was released straight to Netflix, so nothing to see here.

Verdict: The second feature from Charlie McDowell (The One I Love) isn't as strong as his first, but it touts an incredibly intriguing premise (scientists find out the afterlife exists, and people start killing themselves en masse), and is boosted hugely by strong performances from Rooney Mara, Jason Segel and Robert Redford.

The journey is ultimately much more interesting than the destination in this case, and the second half isn't anywhere near as impressive as the slow-burn build-up, but it's still a tantalising effort that ensures McDowell is a talent to watch.
