Verdict: Undeniably disappointing coming from a director of J.C. Chandor's (All Is Lost, A Most Violent Year) calibre, Triple Frontier nevertheless delivers a solidly enjoyable ensemble action thriller, immersed in cliches though it absolutely is.

Between the atmospheric location work, excellent cinematography and entertaining ensemble, the film is (sometimes barely) able to overcome its wonky writing.

Ben Affleck gives an especially strong performance here, looking more world-weary than ever, while Oscar Isaac is also as reliable as you'd expect. Everybody brings it, even if you'd be justified expecting more from such a mass of talent.
