Ranking May 2017's Movies From Worst To Best
14. Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul
RottenTomatoes Score: 17% (4.2/10)
Box Office: Even with a modest $22 million price tag, the quasi-reboot of the family-friendly comedy franchise still hasn't made its cost back. It'll probably break even on home video, where the series may find itself relegated from now on.
Verdict: Did anyone really need a fourth Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie? And even those who answer in the affirmative, did you really want to see a movie-wide recast?
The new cast, especially the new Rodrick, is just one of the movie's problems, though. It's also a pretty bland family-friendly road trip movie, filled to the brim with an over-abundance of toilet humour, and worst of all, it's rarely funny.
The Mad Max: Fury Road and Psycho references are pretty great, but it's hard to imagine it leaving many stoked for yet another entry into the series.
