Ranking May 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

11. Anon

Anon Clive Owen
Netflix

RottenTomatoes Score: 38% (5.3/10)

Box Office: Anon went straight to Netflix in most territories, but did gross $450,000 from its minor international cinema release (largely in Russia). Thanks to Netflix and U.K. VOD sales, it probably broke even.

Verdict: Gattaca director Andrew Niccol continues his run of intriguingly-premised yet fundamentally disappointing thrillers with this stylish yet narratively middling tech-thriller.

Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried do solid work in the lead roles, but anything smart or timely Niccol wants to say about our tech-infused world gets lost amid dodgy pacing and an exposition-heavy script.

Still, great to see you again, Clive.
