14. The Star

RottenTomatoes Score: 50% (5.3/10)

Box Office: An animation impressively cobbled together for just $20 million, The Star has already made its budget back, and will probably do fine business from Christian audiences for the rest of December. It'll make most of its money on home video, though.

Verdict: Though this kiddie-friendly take on the nativity will likely be too bland for most adults, it's fine, basically? It doesn't even begin to make the most of its star-studded cast, but the animation is solid (especially considering the budget), and at just 86 minutes in length, it sure doesn't outstay its welcome.

You won't remember it in a week, but for something to keep the kids quiet, it does the job well enough.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
