Ranking November 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

11. Only The Brave

Joseph Kosinskis Only The Brave Miles Teller
Columbia Pictures

RottenTomatoes Score: 89% (7.1/10)

Box Office: Even with an impressively svelte $38 million budget despite its high concept and quality cast, the biopic disaster movie has only barely made half its budget back to date. What a shame.

Verdict: Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion) delivers by far his best film to date with this visually stunning, superbly acted and unexpectedly affecting tribute to the firefighters who died during the 2013 Yarnell Hill Fire.

Though relatively conventional in its construction, the fantastic performances make the most of the familiar material, while Konsinski serves up a gorgeous visual spectacle as the fire rages out of control.

It's a damn shame this one's flying under the radar, because it's one of Oscar season's most pleasant surprises so far.
