Ranking October 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

14. Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody
20th Century Fox

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 57% (6.0/10)

Box Office: Though made for a hefty $52 million, the Queen biopic grossed an astonishing $12.5 million in its first U.K. weekend, and is currently tracking to crack an additional $40 million in its U.S. opening.

This one's an easy hit, reviews be-damned.

Verdict: Rami Malek and his co-stars give it their all in a broadly entertaining drama that nevertheless rarely feels like more than a paint-by-numbers Wikipedia page summary of the iconic band's achievements.

With its rather coy approach to Freddie Mercury's personal life, overly frantic pace and glossing over major facets of the band's history, it falls far short of its huge potential to be an epic music biopic for the ages. But it's hardly bad, just a bit underwhelming.
