This was a term that became popular when referring to The Rock last year, as it became apparent that he was being shoved into just about any ailing franchise out there in an attempt to boost it up, and by and large, these attempts worked. Just look at the Fast and the Furious franchise (which we'll talk about soon), and also G.I. Joe, which saw Rocky join the cast for last year's Retaliation, and basically run away with the entire film, taking it away from both Channing Tatum and Bruce Willis. He also replaced Brendan Fraser in Journey 2, injecting the series with some much needed charisma, serving as both the steely lead and hilarious comic relief, flexing his pecs and even having a sing-song around the campfire. Journey 2 may have merely been adequate blockbuster entertainment, but it was severely elevated by Johnson, who was clearly game for a fun time, and as a result, it was a surprise box office hit, ensuring a sequel is around the corner.
