Ranking The World's Highest Paid Actresses By Their Debut Film Roles

2. Melissa McCarthy - Go (1999)

Despite having very little originality about it, there are a number of reasons why Go has become a cult classic. Its fast paced and smart writing takes the audience through the lives of three groups of people on one eventful night in the drug filled world of 90s raves and awkward teenagerhood.

Like a best of the 90s, the film takes inspiration from the drug powered antics of Trainspotting, the narrative perspectives of Pulp Fiction and the teen recklessness of Dazed & Confused. McCarthy, playing the adorable and quirky Sandra, only appears for one minute on screen but owns the story thread, acting out one of the funniest scenes of the movie.

Unfortunately, Go has been left by the wayside to make way for its shinier 1990s contemporaries, but it's quality should not be overlooked, it's one of the last films to sum up Gen-X and it signed off the decade with reverence.
