Re-Casting The Lord Of The Rings Movies If They Came Out Today

10. Faramir - Chadwick Boseman

Lord Of The Rings
Open Road Films

In Tolkien's original novels, Faramir was descended from an old line of rulers and kings. No other actor then, is more perfectly suited to play royalty's heir than Chadwick Boseman.

Boseman exudes a natural regality and dignity, perfect for the quieter, humbler son of Denethor.

Just so long as he doesn't constantly do the "Wakanda forever" sign that he's seemingly forced to do in public up until the universe collapses.

It's not all tight pants and spin kicks, however, Boseman's had some serious acting roles in the past, too. This is something of a requirement, given that Faramir provides some of the emotional, familial beats to the storyline. Not that that story needed any more emotional beats. You'll forever be in our hearts, Boromir. *Sniff*

Something that's seemingly never mentioned about Boseman is just how understated of a performer he is. Granted, it's hard to recognise this when most of his high profile scenes include fighting a CGI purple Homer Simpson, but this humility would be a great fit against the larger, more overbearing personalities of Denethor and Boromir (more on him in a minute).

God, this'd be so much easier if we knew their surname.
