Russell Crowe: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

1. Zack Grant - No Way Back

Brilliant though many of Crowe's performances are, there's no getting away from the turkeys he's acted in over the years, and none are as egregiously bad and outright embarrassing as No Way Back, a 1995 cop thriller which sees Crowe playing a non-descript cop who has to escort a Japanese gangster back to Japan from the US, because another gangster had kidnapped his son. Oddly, the film is for a large portion of its runtime a bizarre road movie, with Helen Slater in questionable form as a stewardess along for the ride. Crowe might look better compared to her oddball performance, but he still delivers a pretty incredulous performance himself, clearly just pleased to be working, but even then, it was clear he was capable of so much more.
