You may have noticed on the previous list for Dream casting I went for a number of elf and fairy monarchs to bring the appropriate mix of ethereal detachment and gravitas and once again that model holds true for the eldest Endless. Destiny is possibly the least interesting, complex character of the seven with little for an actor really to sink his teeth into. This is because he is less of a character than a presence, not engaging in the squabbles of his siblings, always keeping calm, his face covered by a hood, reading from the book of all past and future events that is chained to his wrist. The actor who plays Destiny, then, will need to have an imposing physical stature, but not mind about keeping their face covered and must have a rich, resonant voice as this is where most of his performance will come from. Hugo Weaving has plenty of experience using his talents as Shakespearean stage actor in large scale fantasy or comic book blockbusters, so would easily step into the role of Destiny. The Lord of the Rings' Elrond saw him assume a position of calm authority with a hint of a dark edge, while in V for Vendetta his performance was all through voice and physique with his face never seen. Other options: Destiny is never going to be more than a cameo, but that may suit some of the usual selection of experienced actors with good voices who want a quick easy payday before devoting themselves to stage work or similar. Fellow Middle Earther Ian McKellan would do and a younger Christopher Lee would have been ideal but is maybe too old to do more than provide the voice as he did with Discworld's Death. Goyer and Gordon-Levitt worked with Morgan Freeman on Batman, so he's a possibility.
