Sandra Bullock: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

5 Performances That Sucked...

5. Linda Hanson - Premonition (2007)

premonition (1) This movie should have just been called "Mostly Sandra Bullock Running Around Being Shocked," but that probably wouldn't fit on the DVD cover. Premonition is about a woman named Linda (Bullock) who's husband dies in a car accident. She then wakes up the next day to find him alive again. The movie continues like this ad nauseum while Bullock tries to piece together what happened to her husband and how she might prevent it. The movie jumps back and forth between the days of the week and man is it ever confusing and annoying. It's mostly just Bullock being panicked and unable to handle everything being thrown at her. This is a classic example of a director relying too much on the acting ability of Bullock and not enough on a strong story. When we get to the awesome films part of this list, you'll notice that the successful ones are all very story driven: excellent scripts that draw out excellent performances from Bullock. Aside from that, then, Julian McMahon is in this movie, and haven't we learned that he's a pretty terrible actor? The movie tries to be clever and thrilling, but ends up as a mess.
