Scott Eastwood Joins Dad's Acting Return in Trouble With The Curve

Will play an under-performing player who Clint's aging baseball scout still believes in for the Sept. 28th released drama.

Scott Eastwood has joined his Dad in Trouble With The Curve, a baseball-centric drama that marks Clint's first acting gig since 2008's Gran Torino. Written by Randy Brown and to be directed by Clint's long time business partner Robert Lorenz, the film follows Eastwood as an aging scout who is slowly losing his vision. As his career dwindles to a close, he takes one final trip with his daughter to Atlanta to check out prospective players. Amy Adams plays the daughter, Justin Timberlake the ex-pitcher turned scout who is attracted to her, John Goodman a fellow scout and friend to Clint who still believes his pal has the skills to find great players. Variety says Scott Eastwood joins as an under-performing player who Eastwood still believes has the talent and won't give up on. Scott, who had to audition to win the part, has had small roles in Gran Torino, Invictus and Flags of our Fathers for his Dad, and will appear in the forthcoming Leatherface 3D, a new entry in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre saga. Trouble With The Curve is shaping up to be an interesting, potential Oscar-baiting drama with plenty of heart and melancholy. It has a lot to live up to if it is going to beat out 2011's baseball movie sensation Moneyball but they have certainly gotten off to a good start with the casting. All being well, the Malpaso Productions and Warner Bros. movie will hit cinemas September 28th.
