Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings: 10 Major New Details You Need To Know

7. A Mutant From The Comic Books Could Play A Role

Thanks to the Disney/Fox merger, Marvel Studios has regained the rights to the Fantastic Four and X-Men franchises. That gives Kevin Feige access to hundreds (possibly thousands) of new characters, and just like the fictional island of Madripoor will factor into The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, rumour has it that a mutant character will show up in Shang-Chi.

Unfortunately, it's no one quite as noteworthy as Wolverine or Magneto! Instead, it's said that we'll see Takeshi Matsuya. Who? Well, in the comic books he's known as Wiz Kid, a computer genius who is confined to a wheelchair. His power is the ability to create machinery with his mind, and that's something which could come in handy for either The Mandarin or MI6.

We'll get to that latter group a little later, but Marvel Studios is clearly starting to take advantage of the new heroes and villains they've gained access to, and what's going to be really interesting is seeing whether "Wiz Kid" is actually a mutant when he arrives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Something tells us that he'll end up being a regular person, but he'll be one to keep an eye on...
